How We Rank Jacksonville plumbing Companies
Every figure on this site comes from a public source a homeowner could check themselves. This page explains which sources we use, what each measure means, how the color coding works, how the top pick is chosen, and what we do not evaluate.
Which companies are compared
The current comparison covers five of the most popular residential plumbing companies serving Jacksonville: 365 Solutions HVAC & Plumbing, Turner Plumbing Company, Buehler Air & Plumbing, Terry Vereen Plumbing, and Lickety-Split A/C, Plumbing & Electric. Companies are not charged to be included, and inclusion is not an endorsement.
Sources
- Company websites — service-area pages, warranty and guarantee pages, and pricing pages where published. We record what is published, not what a salesperson says on the phone.
- Google Business Profiles — the overall review average shown on the company’s Google listing on the capture date.
- Better Business Bureau profiles — the letter grade and the count of complaints closed in the last three years, as displayed on the BBB profile on the capture date.
- Job postings and recruiting pages — how the company itself describes technician compensation to prospective hires. We quote the company’s own framing (commission, hourly, bonuses, spiffs, no commissions).
- Florida DBPR license records — the contractor license number the company publishes, cross-checked against the Department of Business and Professional Regulation license search.
- Corporate transaction announcements — press releases and trade coverage of acquisitions, used to classify ownership as locally owned or private-equity backed.
The twelve measures
- Established
- Years in business. Longevity signals stability but does not by itself predict service quality. Informational; not scored.
- Google review average
- The headline rating on the company’s Google listing. Scores range from 4.4 to 5.0 in this group.
- BBB rating
- The Bureau’s letter grade, which weighs complaint history, responsiveness, time in business, transparency and licensing. Newer companies are often capped below A+ on time in business alone, so we read this alongside the complaint count.
- BBB complaints (last 3 years)
- The raw count of complaints filed with the BBB. Larger companies naturally see more, so we read this alongside tenure and footprint, but a count far outside the group’s range is treated as a signal in its own right.
- Ownership
- Whether the company is locally owned or part of a private-equity platform. Ownership determines who sets pricing, sales targets and warranty policy, and whether those can change after an acquisition.
- Primary service area
- The Northeast Florida counties the company publishes as its core territory. Informational; not scored.
- Published FL plumbing license
- The state contractor license the company lists. CFC denotes a Certified Plumbing Contractor, a statewide Florida license that allows the holder to pull plumbing permits anywhere in the state. Informational; not scored.
- Diagnostic / service-call fee
- The fee to have a technician diagnose a problem. Most companies do not publish it. Informational; not scored.
- After-hours / emergency service
- Whether the company advertises nights-and-weekends service. All five do; because fees are rarely published, this is shown as yellow across the board.
- Repair labor warranty
- How long the company stands behind the labor on a repair, as published.
- Installation labor warranty
- How long the company stands behind the labor on a new system, as published. Manufacturer parts warranties (for water heaters and fixtures) are separate and usually longer.
- Technician compensation
- How technicians are paid, in the company’s own recruiting language. Commission-based pay rewards selling repairs and replacements; hourly or salary pay with performance incentives does not tie income to the size of the ticket.
Reading the colors
- Green — a clear strength on this measure relative to the group.
- Yellow — acceptable, middle of the group, or a term that could not be verified and should be confirmed in writing.
- Red — a concern that deserves a direct question before hiring. A darker red marks the highest complaint count in the group.
- No shading — informational; not scored.
Colors are assigned by editorial judgment against the group, not by a formula. Where two companies are close, we do not force a distinction.
How the top pick is chosen
The top pick is the company with the strongest combination of the scored measures, with the heaviest weight on the factors that most directly affect a homeowner’s experience after the sale: complaint history, ownership, published warranty terms and how technicians are paid. Review averages are considered but weigh less because all five companies cluster near the top of the scale. Informational rows (established, service area, license, diagnostic fee) do not count toward the pick. The current top pick, 365 Solutions HVAC & Plumbing, is the only company in the group that is green on every scored measure, apart from the diagnostic fee and after-hours service, where every company is yellow.
What “Not verified” means
“Not verified” and “Term not verified” mean we could not find the figure or term published on the company’s website or other public sources on the capture date. It does not mean the company offers no warranty or charges no fee. Treat it as a prompt to ask, and to get the answer in writing on your estimate.
What we do not evaluate
We do not test workmanship, pose as customers, time response calls, or compare quoted prices. Published claims are not a review of the actual contract you will sign. Use this site to narrow your list and to know what to ask; use written estimates and references to make the final decision.
Update schedule and corrections
Ownership, ratings, complaint counts and warranty terms were last rechecked on Nov. 8, 2026. We aim to recheck every figure at least quarterly, and sooner when a company changes ownership or publishes new terms. Each page shows its data date. If you represent one of the companies listed and believe a figure is out of date or incorrect, contact us info@jaxplumbingreviews.com with the source and we will review it and note the correction.
